Delete your Orcus account
Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open the Orcus app on your phone
- Tap your profile / settings icon
- Choose Account → Delete my account
- Confirm with your phone OTP
- Your account is deleted immediately
Option 2 — Request by email
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my Orcus account". Include:
- Your registered phone number
- The name you used at signup
We'll verify your identity and process the deletion within 7 business days.
What gets deleted immediately
- Your name, phone number, email, profile photo
- Your saved addresses and locations
- Your in-app chat history
- Your push notification tokens
- Your saved payment methods (if any)
- For providers: your business page, work-sample photos, identity documents
What we keep, and for how long
Some data is retained for legal, financial, or anti-fraud reasons:
- Transaction records (orders, amounts, dates) — 8 years, per Indian tax law
- Aggregate analytics with no personal identifiers — indefinitely
- Identity verification records for providers — 5 years after account deletion, per Indian financial regulations
- Banned-user signals (if your account was suspended for abuse) — 7 years, to prevent re-registration
This retained data is access-restricted to compliance staff only and is never used for marketing or third-party sharing.
If you change your mind
Account deletion is final — we can't restore deleted accounts. If you simply want to stop receiving notifications, you can:
- Toggle yourself offline (providers) in the app
- Mute notifications in your phone settings
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any email
